Art Projects
Inga Prasse has carried out numerous art projects in recent years. Her work has been supported by the Dräger Foundation and as part of the Possehl Foundation’s Kulturfunke* program, among others.
Overview
2022: “Unterwasserspaziergang in der Ostsee”, supported by the Possehl Foundation’s Kulturfunke* program
Over the course of one month, this art project produced a 2 × 10 meter artwork depicting the underwater world of the Baltic Sea. It showed native marine life, and litter. More than 400 children and adults contributed to the artwork.
2022: “Unser schönes Travemünde”, supported by the Possehl Foundation’s Kulturfunke* program
Working with changing groups of children and a variety of materials, Inga Prasse explored Travemünde as a place where children live. The resulting paintings, drawings, and sculptures were then exhibited at the Kunstpavillon Travemünde.
2023: “FahnenMeer”, a project by the Verein für Kunst und Kultur zu Travemünde e.V., supported by the Dräger Foundation
Together with children and young people from four schools in Lübeck, artist Inga Prasse designed 12 flags on which the children artistically explored Lübeck, Travemünde, and the Baltic Sea. The flags were raised on the Nordermole (north pier) in Travemünde in summer 2023.
2024: “Abgetaucht – Mission Ostsee”, supported by the Possehl Foundation’s Kulturfunke* program
Together with a group of children, artist Inga Prasse illustrated her children’s book “Abgetaucht – Mission Ostsee.” The book received the Bürgerakademie Lübeck Award.
2025: “Lesen ist bunt”, a project for the KünstlerGemeinschaft Travemünde e.V., supported by the Dräger Foundation
Together with a group of eight young people, the artist created an animated video for the accompanying song “Buchstabensport” (Letter Sports) and illustrated the mini book “Lesen ist bunt.” The book and the music video have been used by many schools and reading associations across Germany in classroom teaching and during dedicated school reading periods.
Children’s Art Exhibitions
Inga Prasse has also linked many of her art projects with children to exhibitions, which she plans and organizes together with the children. During the exhibitions, the children present their own work, assign value to their artwork, and in doing so gain and strengthen their sense of self-efficacy and competence. The exhibitions have been covered in the local press and on the radio.
